Job Overview

Position: Logistics Associate

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transports materials and products from receiving or production areas to designated storage or processing locations.
  • Organizes and categorizes items on shelves, racks, or bins based on specified criteria such as size, type, style, color, or product identification.
  • Handles perishable items, ensuring proper storage in refrigerated environments.
  • Responds to inventory requests and distributes materials to production teams or assembly lines.
  • Compiles customer orders from inventory and prepares them for shipment or storage.
  • Labels materials with identifying information and maintains accurate records of received or distributed items.
  • Utilizes the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track production, shipping, receiving, and inventory metrics.
  • Processes outgoing products and ensures all shipping documentation complies with established standards.
  • Receives incoming raw materials and completes all necessary documentation according to company protocols.
  • Conducts thorough inspections of trailers and maintains accurate records.
  • Monitors operational tasks to uphold food safety and quality standards, reporting any discrepancies to supervisors or quality assurance teams.
  • Measures or counts items for distribution within the facility to ensure compliance with company specifications.
  • Arranges stock in a specified order for efficient assembly by team members.
  • Operates vehicles to move stored items between the warehouse and production areas or to collect items for shipment.
  • Prepares samples or parcels for distribution.
  • Adheres to company policies and procedures, ensuring proper use of equipment and materials.
  • Observes safety protocols and reports any potential hazards.
  • Maintains inventory records and performs periodic counts as needed.

Qualifications:
Successful candidates must be willing to operate various types of forklifts.

Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent; six to twelve months of relevant experience or training is preferred. Forklift experience is advantageous.

Language Proficiency:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as production schedules, inventory reports, safety regulations, and operational manuals.
Capable of writing routine reports and communicating effectively with groups.

Technical Skills:
Proficiency in typing and computer usage, including familiarity with inventory management software, order processing systems, and spreadsheet applications (e.g., MS Excel). Knowledge of Warehouse Management System software and handheld scanning devices is essential.

Certifications:
Must obtain and maintain a valid forklift and pallet jack operator's license within the first week of employment.

Physical Requirements:
Employees are regularly required to sit, use hands for handling, reach with arms, and communicate. Occasional standing and walking are required, with the ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision, color perception, and depth perception.

Work Environment:
Employees may be exposed to humid conditions and moderate noise levels, with potential exposure to louder environments requiring hearing protection.
