JOB SUMMARY: The individual will be accountable for collaborating with various business sectors within the organization, utilizing strategic planning methodologies for effective project delivery and regularly reporting on project progress, challenges, and risks to the appropriate management channels.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Generate and sustain comprehensive project management documentation, including project charters, deployment guides, implementation strategies, training materials, risk mitigation plans, and executive status updates, covering all aspects of the initiatives.
- Engage with all project team members and resource managers to gather ongoing updates on their responsibilities related to the project plan, from the initial concept phase through to the delivery of a production-ready solution to the deployment team, ensuring project readiness.
- Organize tasks and distribute resources within the IT department as needed based on project responsibilities for the relevant areas.
- Schedule tasks for the deployment of solutions in a testing environment. Facilitate onboarding and provide training support to application owners throughout the project delivery lifecycle to guarantee a seamless transition.
- Outline requirements, development inputs, testing, and deployment tasks in collaboration with database, network, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and privacy teams as applicable. Ensure compliance with the minimum standards established by these teams for the proposed solutions.
- Establish effective communication strategies by organizing regular meetings with stakeholders to update them on project status and any associated issues or risks, while also collaborating with cross-functional team members to ensure timely delivery of scheduled outputs.
- Oversee and collaborate with Business Analysts to document business requirements, testing scripts, process flows, standard operating procedures, testing plans, and conduct system integration testing and user acceptance testing.
- Formulate implementation and testing strategies.
- Create standard operating procedures and coordinate the transition for long-term maintenance and support of the solution.
- Take responsibility for the overall financial management of initiatives, including Budget to Actual, Monthly Estimates to Complete (ETCs), and compiling the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Return on Investment (ROI), and Capital Planning (CPAR) efforts to present proposals for business unit approval as necessary.
- Ensure that external vendors and consultants meet the criteria outlined in the Statement of Work, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) designated for the projects.
- Perform additional job-related functions as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
DEGREE TYPE: Bachelor's Degree
FIELD(S) OF STUDY: Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE:
- At least 5 years of experience in an IT-related position.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in project management or a related capacity.
- Experience with system/application implementation.
- Background in the cruise line industry.
COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:
- Willingness to travel as required based on project demands.
- Proven track record of successfully managing the deployment of initiatives.
- Ability to make sound, independent decisions and exercise logical judgment to ensure timely project completion and resolution of issues.
- Advanced proficiency in applications such as Microsoft Suite, Clarity, LucidChart, JIRA, and other project management tools.
- Capability to effectively manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines by setting appropriate expectations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
