Position Overview

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to streamline the workload of the Accounting team, enabling the part-time CFO to concentrate on strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial management and team leadership.
  • Oversee financial accounts for the Parent company and its subsidiary across various business sectors.
  • Expertise in US accounting standards (GAAP) is essential.
  • Experience in supervising accounting personnel is required.
  • Proficient in project management, problem-solving, and enhancing operational processes.
  • Comfortable with technology and adept at implementing software solutions for process automation.
Key Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership & Development:
  • Supervise a full-time bookkeeper.
  • Improve standard operating procedures and workflows.
2. Tax Compliance:
  • Manage US Sales tax obligations.
  • Oversee VAT payments for international operations.
3. Accounts Payable & Receivable:
  • Supervise AP/AR functions.
  • Authorize payroll and vendor payments.
  • Conduct expense audits and reconciliations.
  • Monitor subscription databases.
  • Manage customer financial accounts and invoice financing.
4. Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements.
  • Conduct budget versus actual performance analysis.
  • Forecast cash flow utilizing inventory management tools.
5. Process Optimization:
  • Review and refine monthly closing procedures.
  • Implement technological solutions to enhance efficiency.
Qualifications

Experience Requirements

  • Significant experience in inventory management, particularly in import/export, e-commerce, or retail sectors.
Software Proficiency

Ideal candidates should be familiar with:

  • Xero accounting or Quickbooks Online.
  • US GAAP accounting principles.
  • Inventory management tools.
  • Retail and eCommerce platforms.
