Camp Facility Maintenance Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Camp Facility Maintenance Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining the cleanliness and order of our camp facilities, ensuring a positive experience for campers and staff alike.

Essential Job Functions
  • Perform comprehensive janitorial tasks, including vacuuming, wet mopping, sweeping, dusting, and emptying trash receptacles. This role requires the ability to lift heavy waste materials weighing up to 55 pounds.
  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize restrooms, including floors, fixtures (urinals, toilets, sinks, mirrors, partitions, and counters).
  • Maintain restroom supplies by refilling dispensers and stocking essential items.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of windows and sills throughout the camp facilities.
  • Be flexible and willing to work overtime or weekends as needed to accommodate events and facility schedules.
  • Demonstrate physical stamina by regularly walking, climbing stairs, bending, and standing for extended periods during a shift.
  • Contribute to the overall cleanliness of the camp by performing other related duties as assigned.
Supervision

This position reports to the Shift Supervisor. While you will work independently, it is essential to maintain clear communication and follow instructions provided.

Working Conditions

The Camp Facility Maintenance Specialist works primarily in indoor and outdoor environments. The role involves prolonged standing and walking while performing cleaning and sanitizing tasks. You may be required to climb stairs, stoop, crawl, lift, bend, kneel, pull, and push objects weighing up to 55 pounds. Physical exertion is a key aspect of this position.

The work environment may expose you to potential hazards or physical risks, necessitating adherence to basic safety precautions. You may also encounter moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, cleaning chemicals, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Successful completion of a federal background check
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions
  • Strong reading comprehension skills
  • Proficiency in understanding and following safety procedures
  • Maintain a professional appearance through effective grooming practices
  • Ability to operate electronic devices for clocking in/out procedures
  • Experience operating vacuums and other related equipment
  • Knowledge of safe handling practices for cleaning equipment and supplies
  • Physical capability to lift, push/pull, and manipulate heavy objects weighing up to 55 pounds
