Job Title: Local City Driver

Job Summary:

As a Local City Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer to deliver and pick up customer freight within a defined geographic area. You will ensure that freight is delivered in a claims-free and cost-efficient manner, while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a positive attitude.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a tractor-trailer to deliver and pick up customer freight
  • Sort, handle, load, and unload freight at various company and customer locations
  • Plan routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries and pickups
  • Follow established pre-trip, post-trip, freight handling, and billing procedures
  • Conduct inspections by following established safety and quality control procedures
  • Retain and maintain records, forms, and load-related paperwork
  • Serve as the first point-of-contact for delivery-related issues
Requirements:
  • Class A commercial driver's license
  • Safe motor vehicle report and applicable endorsements, including hazmat, tankers, doubles, and triples
  • 1+ years of tractor trailer driving experience
  • Experience operating a forklift and pallet jack
  • Ability to lift and move objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights
Benefits:

At Saia, Inc., we offer a competitive compensation package, including a base hourly rate of $30.00 - $34.50 per hour, based on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, vision, and prescription coverage, as well as a 401(k) plan with immediate company match.
