Position Overview
The Healthcare Center Liaison plays a crucial role in managing clerical duties, reception tasks, billing processes, patient referrals, and overall customer service within the medical office environment. This position involves handling a significant volume of sensitive medical, financial, and personal data on a daily basis. The Liaison is accountable for daily scheduling, managing incoming communications, patient registration, billing and collection responsibilities, along with various other assigned tasks.
Responsibilities and Expectations
The Healthcare Center Liaison is tasked with overseeing the daily clerical operations of the facility. This role requires the accurate and efficient processing of the arrival and departure of numerous patients each day. The Liaison operates under the direct supervision of the Practice Manager.
Required Qualifications
1. High School diploma or GED is mandatory.
2. A minimum of two to three years of experience in an outpatient healthcare setting is preferred.
3. Candidates must possess a strong understanding of medical terminology and a comprehensive knowledge of HIPAA regulations, with confidentiality being paramount.
4. Familiarity with Third Party Payers, ICD-10, and CPT Coding is advantageous.
5. Proficiency in computer skills and keyboarding is essential; experience with Electronic Medical Records is beneficial, with EPIC being the preferred system.
6. The ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment is critical.
7. Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with various teams and in diverse settings.
