UPMC is seeking a Casual Respiratory Therapist, RRT/CRT to join our team. This role will work Days & Nights, 16 hours (consisting of eight- or 12-hours) per four-week period, with one major holiday per year required.
Responsibilities- Evaluate medical orders and interpret clinical data to optimize patient clinical objectives.
- Set up and operate devices, such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators.
- Assist in the transport of mechanically ventilated patients and respond to all code situations.
- Maintain patient charts and read prescriptions to assess patient condition and determine requirements for treatment.
- Monitor patient physiological responses to therapy and perform bronchopulmonary drainage and breathing exercises.
- Graduate of a Co ARC approved Respiratory program or students with a temporary license.
- Basic Life Support or Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation certification.
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRTT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
