Position Overview

Twelve Labs is on the lookout for a skilled AI Research Scientist dedicated to advancing our initiatives in video representation and retrieval, multimodal language processing, and intelligent systems. As a pivotal member of our research team, you will work closely with the team leader to identify and implement AI research projects with diligence and foresight. Your work will play a crucial role in influencing the trajectory of our offerings and securing their competitive edge in the industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead AI research initiatives that are vital for the enhancement of Twelve Labs' offerings (e.g., video representation & retrieval, multimodal language processing, intelligent agents)
  • Partner with the team leader to determine and execute AI research projects with a responsible and proactive approach
  • Engage in discussions to establish data collection and annotation strategies for project implementation
  • Maintain consistent communication and provide constructive feedback among ML team members regarding ongoing research
  • Actively share insights and updates on research progress with the team leader and fellow team members
  • Contribute to fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment within the team
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Demonstrated research experience and enthusiasm in areas such as Video Analysis, Multimodal Language Processing, Vision + X, Open-domain Question Answering, Generative Models, Video Representation Learning, Action Recognition, or related fields
  • PhD in a relevant discipline, or a Master’s degree accompanied by 3+ years of professional experience
  • Proven ability to independently spearhead research projects
  • Committed and conscientious in fulfilling job responsibilities
  • Experience in developing large-scale commercial machine learning applications
  • Background in large-scale model training and optimization
  • Published work in prestigious AI conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AAAI, NAACL, ACL, EMNLP, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, KDD, SIGGRAPH) related to video, Vision + NLP, or multimodal research
  • Notable achievements in international conference challenges, Kaggle competitions, or national AI contests
  • Exceptional proficiency in English writing and communication
