Position Overview:
Under the guidance of the Director of Diagnostic Imaging, the MRI Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all functions within the MRI department. This role requires a proactive approach and the ability to make independent decisions. Collaborating closely with the supervising Radiologist, the supervisor will develop protocols and ensure the technical excellence of all imaging procedures. This position also includes direct supervision of all personnel within the MRI section.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of post-secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in MRI technology.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • New Hampshire Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NH MIRT) certification.
  • CPR certification required within 90 days of employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Fulfill all duties associated with a staff MRI technologist.
  2. Contribute to the creation of staffing and operational plans, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
  3. Organize and oversee the workflow of MRI staff, providing orientation and training while ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.
  4. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations within the MRI department.
  5. Participate in decisions regarding equipment upgrades and replacements.
  6. Recommend personnel actions such as promotions and disciplinary measures, and discuss unresolved issues with the Department Director.
  7. Coordinate assignments and activities within the MRI section to align with other hospital departments.
  8. Assist the Department Director in developing departmental budgets.
  9. Support the Department Director in conducting performance evaluations for MRI staff.
  10. Manage the procurement, storage, and distribution of necessary supplies.
