About the Role

This part-time role offers a unique opportunity to work in various kitchens across Portland Public Schools, providing essential support for students' nutrition. As a Nutrition Assistant Rover, you will be an integral part of our team, ensuring delicious and nutritious meals are prepared daily.

As a rover, you will receive continued assignments throughout the school year, working up to 5 hours per day. Your schedule will vary, with shifts typically between 2 to 5 hours daily, scheduled between 7:30AM and 2:30PM.

The ideal candidate is a team player who can thrive in fast-paced environments, following verbal and written instructions with ease. You should be able to lift up to 50 lbs., push or pull 70-100 lbs., and use a full range of motion at standard height work stations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support kitchen staff in food preparation, serving, and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Assist with cash handling, making changes as needed.
  • Maintain current Multnomah County Food Handler's Certification.
