Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate, integrate, and oversee technical initiatives to ensure that identified requirements are transformed into efficient and optimized systems throughout their lifecycle.
  • Verify compatibility across all functional and physical interfaces, both internal and external.
  • Ensure that the system's definition and design accurately reflect the requirements for all system elements, including hardware, software, data, and facilities.
  • Adhere to the Systems Engineering process throughout engineering efforts.
  • Collaborate within a diverse team comprising various stakeholders (engineering, logistics, manufacturing, contractors, program leadership) to resolve designated aspects of complex problems with multiple competing objectives, variables, and constraints.
  • Document solutions concerning technical, cost, and scheduling constraints.
  • Develop and review a range of technical documentation, including change management records, presentation materials, and white papers.
  • Engage in activities related to various segments of program execution, which may encompass Risk Management, Configuration Management, Data Management, Trade-off Analysis/Trade Studies, Technical Performance Measures, Technical Reviews, and Modeling & Simulation.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders across program offices, fleet, and industry partners.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferred fields include Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the systems engineering domain, particularly in requirements management and verification.
  • Familiarity with the DoN Systems Engineering Process and the DoN Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) policy and process is essential, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in one or more of the preferred skill sets.
  • Strong communication skills to convey information clearly and effectively to stakeholders with varying levels of technical knowledge.
  • An active Secret clearance is required.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with CORE or GENESYS is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with operating environments and aviation operations on relevant platforms, such as CVN class ships.
  • Production engineering experience, particularly in reviewing DoD acquisition documentation supporting major system production.
  • Experience with Systems Engineering processes, ideally the NAVAIR SE process.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues effectively to leadership, especially to non-technical personnel.
  • Experience working in integrated programs that encompass various engineering and logistics disciplines.
  • Leadership experience in engineering teams focused on design, development, or manufacturing projects.
