Job Summary:

Sunpro is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Yard Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient assembly of customer orders, as well as the loading of materials onto company and customer trucks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Visualize and implement the company vision and core values.
  • Efficiently and accurately assemble and stage customer orders for delivery, inner-yard transfer, or customer pick-up.
  • Complete any necessary paperwork associated with incoming/outgoing materials.
  • Keep management informed of any delays or discrepancies.
  • Safely operate yard equipment, including power tools and forklifts.
  • Perform routine pre and post inspections to ensure the suitable working nature of equipment.
  • Maintain necessary equipment logs and inform supervisor of deficiencies.
  • Perform/prioritize work activity according to business needs and as directed by supervisor.
  • Maintain storage areas, entry/exit points, and yard areas.
  • Assist customers as they enter the yard for material pick-ups or returns.
  • Unload lumber deliveries from suppliers and compare invoices to items actually received to ensure that shipments are correct.
  • Load lumber and other merchandise into customer/salesman vehicles.
  • Occasional delivery of materials with company vehicles.
  • Answer customers' questions about merchandise and advise customers on merchandise selection.
  • Communicate with customers, coworkers, and supervisors in a courteous, effective, and respectful manner.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience operating a forklift, able to obtain certification.
  • Valid Driver License, with good driving record.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical Work Requirements - Heavy: exerting up to 75 lbs of force regularly.
  • Repetitive motion associated with operating equipment.
  • Regular exposure to the elements.
  • Frequent bending, standing, lifting, and ongoing physical activity.
