About the Role:
Texas Oncology is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist Sr to join our team at the Carrollton location. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, with no weekends, call, or major holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and process specimens from patients under minimal supervision.
- Follow quality assurance and safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with patient flow as needed.
- Properly identify patients, draw blood samples, and send them to the laboratory for analysis.
- Maintain collection areas and equipment, and perform record-keeping duties.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Five or more years of experience in phlebotomy or a related field.
- Licensure from an accredited school of phlebotomy recommended.
- Current state licensure if applicable.
Work Environment:
The Phlebotomist Sr will work in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment, exposed to direct contact with patients, potential exposure to blood/body fluids, chemotherapeutic agents, or transmittable infections. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in this environment and maintain a clean and safe working space.
