Position Summary


The Food Service Assistant plays a crucial role in various tasks, including monitoring and documenting food temperatures, maintaining a clean and sanitized serving area, preparing and serving food items, restocking supplies, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and processing payments for food and beverages using a computerized register, among other responsibilities.

Adheres to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards for food service. Provides excellent customer service and communicates effectively with patrons and colleagues. Demonstrates the ability to foster positive working relationships.

Ensures quality control standards are met.

May operate equipment such as grills, beverage machines, toasters, ice cream dispensers, cash registers, computerized cash registers, steam equipment, dishwashers, telephones, refrigerators, and freezers.

Ideally, has experience in the food service industry.

Possesses the ability to work independently when necessary. Understands food safety and sanitation processes. Demonstrates the ability to remain on feet for extended periods and walk significant distances.

Qualifications
Must be at least 16 years of age. Previous experience in customer service, retail cash handling, and knowledge of food service is preferred. Ability to read, write, and follow both oral and written instructions is essential. Basic math skills are required. On-the-job training will be provided.

Depending on the location of hire, Serv Safe certification may be required within a specified timeframe. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may also be necessary based on location requirements.
