Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Multimedia Production Technician to join our team at Arkansas State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our television facilities, including monitoring and adjusting equipment, providing technical support, and performing routine maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Inspect, perform preventive maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and repair video and audio equipment to the component level when necessary.
  • Technical Support: Assist faculty and students with video projects, provide technical setup and support for special projects, and troubleshoot audio and video problems.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with audio and video equipment inventory and check out, and supervise work-study students who work in the Equipment Room.
  • Studio Operations: Monitor ASU-TV Cable and streamed feeds, collaborate with Optimum cable technicians, and ensure the successful operation of broadcasts.
  • Facilities Management: Monitor TV facilities and shop area for unnecessary clutter and safety hazards, and recommend the disposal of excess nonessential and antiquated equipment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in audio-visual equipment maintenance and repair, or related field.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of video and audio equipment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
