The ideal candidate will possess over 8 years of comprehensive experience in roadway engineering. Candidates should be prepared to engage in a variety of tasks that support different project types and project leaders.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a vital member of a roadway engineering team, you will work under the guidance of various Project Leaders. Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborating with a team to develop plans, specifications, and cost assessments for projects of varying sizes and complexities.
- Creating plan documents and associated design calculations.
- Producing detailed construction drawings utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Ensuring high-quality output and implementing quality assurance/quality control procedures.
- Overseeing the technical components of multiple projects.
- Coordinating with other disciplines, support services, and subconsultants.
- Engaging with governmental agencies, utility providers, and other external organizations.
- Interfacing with clients based on project responsibilities.
- Identifying relevant codes, standards, and design requirements.
- Reviewing plans, technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
- Preparing technical specifications and cost evaluations.
- Conducting field assessments and reviews to inform design processes.
- Participating in contract bidding, providing limited oversight during construction, and reviewing submissions and requests for information.
- Representing clients and the firm in discussions with governmental bodies.
- Maintaining and coordinating schedules for multiple concurrent projects.
- Developing and tracking milestones to ensure timely and budget-conscious project delivery.
- Supervising the work of junior engineers and technical support staff.
- Mentoring and training engineers and technical personnel.
- Ensuring adherence to division, regional, and company values, policies, and practices within the engineering service.
- Leading by example, demonstrating sound judgment, integrity, transparency, and professionalism.
The successful candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- A Professional Engineer (PE) license in Wisconsin or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
- A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in roadway engineering.
