We collect comprehensive, high-resolution ocean data to support our mission. As the Instrument/Electrical Technician, you will join our Subsea Robotics team to perform electronic assembly, startup, calibration, functional, and safety testing on electrical and electronic systems for subsea vehicles.

On regular occasions, you'll need to travel to support field repair of deployed subsea vehicles and may be engaged as a member of the operations team to launch, monitor, and recover subsea vehicles.

This position requires building all the electrical components that go into the vehicles, installing them, testing them to ensure calibration, and troubleshooting if things are not working properly.

We are looking for an Instrument/Electrical Technician to support the electrical design, production, and support for a new autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) development.

The work will include cabinet wiring, cable creation, installing, and troubleshooting various electromechanical assemblies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform electronic assembly, startup, calibration, functional, and safety testing on electrical and electronic systems for subsea vehicles
  • Support field repair of deployed subsea vehicles
  • Participate in the operations team to launch, monitor, and recover subsea vehicles
  • Build, install, and test electrical components for subsea vehicles
  • Support the electrical design, production, and support for a new AUV development

Work Environment:

This is a fully on-site position in Austin, Texas. You will need to be onsite 9am-3pm, but the hours can be a little flexible from there, ranging from 9am-5pm to as early as 7am-3pm. You will also need to be willing to travel to our testing site in Panama City Beach once a quarter for up to 14 days.

You must be fit to carry heavy items, be able to get in and out of a boat, and be comfortable being on boats. The work environment is climate-controlled, involves standing on your feet all day, and working with a team of three plus additional engineers.
