CNC & NC Machine Setup & Operate P&R Job Description

Eaton's ES GEIS CHD division is seeking a skilled CNC & NC Machine Setup & Operate P&R professional to join our team. The core hours for this position are 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with an hourly rate of $23.99 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Setup and operate NC and CNC machines, as well as conventional machines, to perform various turning, drilling, tapping, boring, reaming, threading, forming, facing, milling, slotting, grooving, chamfering, serrating, and deburring operations to produce explosion-proof parts of various materials.
  • Operate machines, including single spindle and multi-spindle drill presses and tappers, milling machines, parts washers, and deburring grinders.
  • Refer to assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and machining blueprints to maintain tolerances.
  • Set controls and perform manual data input functions as required, review operation data sheets, parts programs, tape readouts, and prints, and change collets and/or chucks; load and unload parts; load, unload, and adjust tools as necessary.
  • Check the first piece using fixed or adjustable gauges; gauge periodically and visually inspect all parts for appearance and compliance to specifications; correct for any discrepancies.
  • Maintain a supply of materials to machines and remove finished work as necessary to establish a flow through the cells.
  • Operate a fork truck to facilitate own work or to move material around the department as required.
  • Maintain work area, machines, and control units in a clean, neat, and orderly condition and follow 5-S's principles.
Requirements:
  • Minimum two (2) years' previous work experience in machine setup and operation.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, charts, and tables.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship.
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Syracuse facility (50 miles) will be considered for this position.
Preferred Qualification:
  • 3+ years of work experience with NC & CNC machine setup and operation.
  • Fork Truck experience.
