Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse RN to join our team at Carle Health. As a key member of our outpatient clinic, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and promoting the well-being of our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Assist healthcare providers with obtaining vital information, preparing patients for examination, treatment, and minor surgical procedures.
  • Apply nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care within licensure guidelines.
  • Provide telephone triage, documenting advice for home care of illness/conditions, and conducting follow-up phone calls as necessary.
  • Administer vaccines and medications, place urinary catheters and IVs per protocol and license, and schedule referrals for patients with specialists or outpatient services.
  • Complete forms and requisitions needed for referrals or lab testing, including CPT/ICD-9 coding.
  • Track system for follow-up appointments related to office visits, laboratory tests, and procedures.
  • Provide timely documentation in the patient's electronic health record using standardized workflows and processes.
  • Supervise delegated duties to LPN and CMA on approved clinical protocols.
  • Maintain compliance with CLIA, OSHA, Safety, and Risk Management guidelines.
  • Behave in a manner consistent with all policies and procedures, including Compliance, HIPAA, and personnel workplace rules.
Requirements
  • Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License
  • Current license to practice nursing in the State of Illinois
  • No previous clinical experience required beyond education requirements
