Certified Surgical Technologist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at Reston Hospital Center. As a key member of our operating room team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.
Responsibilities- Assist circulating nurse in setting up room, ensuring presence and proper functioning of all necessary equipment and instruments.
- Participate in sponge, needle, and instrument counts, readies sutures, and passes all instruments, equipment, sponges, medications, etc. to surgeons and assistants as needed.
- Pass specimen from surgeon to circulating nurse, responsible for specimen while on field.
- Perform related duties, including but not limited to: assist in cleaning and stocking, picking cases for next day, housekeeping duties, and attending staff meetings.
- Work as a collaborative member of the OR team, demonstrating ability to adjust to different situations at any given time, anticipate needs of surgical team on field, and take direction from circulating nurse.
- Completion of a Surgical Technician Course.
- Must hold a current Surgical Technologist Certification and License through the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Two years OR scrubbing experience preferred, previous CVOR experience also preferred.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
