- Develop, implement, and update patient care plans based on ongoing assessment and input from patients and families.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to promote effective patient care and achieve unit and organizational goals.
- Verify and implement orders from physicians, physician assistants, and advanced practice nurses, performing interventions as prescribed and documenting accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Engage patients and families in developing educational plans and recognizing symptoms, establishing priorities, and responding to changing patient needs.
- Delegate tasks to support personnel, providing feedback and support as needed.
- Demonstrate a commitment to UI Health's values through teamwork and effective communication, striving for quality outcomes, patient safety, customer satisfaction, and a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment.
- Eligibility for licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Division of Professional Regulation.
- Current AHA BLS/CPR and other required unit-specific certifications.
- Effective communication skills (oral and written) that facilitate therapeutic relationships between patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Intermediate computer skills with the ability to become proficient in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) with on-the-job training.
- Excellent attendance, interpersonal skills, and work history required.
- ADN accepted.
This position requires Illinois residency within 180 days of the hire date.
