Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Respiratory Therapist to join our team at The Emerald Peek Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing specialized care and treatment to patients with cardio-pulmonary, respiratory conditions, neurological disorders, and physical conditions that manifest into respiratory disorders over an extended period.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Maintain Systems
    • Build and enhance the facility's reputation for being the unparalleled provider of Respiratory Therapy
    • Develop and implement systems to improve departmental operations
    • Ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, clinical standards, and protocols
    • Implement new patient programs in accordance with facility policies
    • Conduct in-services as required
  • Monitor Financial Performance
    • Monitor the financial performance of the Respiratory Therapy department
    • Develop and implement action plans to improve financial performance
    • Manage key operations and financial levers to achieve budget projections
  • Contribute to Professional Development
    • Maintain current professional status and licensure
    • Adhere to professional standards of conduct and clinical code of ethics and practice
    • Provide new employee orientation and ongoing staff development programs
    • Develop and implement in-service orientation schedules
  • Aid in Building and Maintaining Reputation
    • Contribute to a positive work team by sharing information and using problem-solving methods
    • Maintain close communications within the facility with the director of nursing, nurse managers, and admissions coordinator
    • Establish and maintain an effective rapport with the facility administrator, MDS, Rehab Director, DON, and medical director
  • Provide Patient Treatments
    • Perform accurate, comprehensive patient evaluations
    • Develop effective plans of treatment and obtain appropriate approvals from referring physicians
    • Communicate with supervisor and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress, problems, and treatment plans
  • Write Accurate Documentation
    • Record Screens/Resident Needs Reviews, evaluations, daily treatment notes, in accordance with facility policies and procedures
    • Record treatment charges accurately and ensure that documentation is consistent with billing data
  • Demonstrate Safe Working Practices
    • Identify and correct safety hazards or notify the facility administrator
    • Maintain work areas in a safe and orderly fashion
    • Maintain equipment in safe working order
Qualifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of respiratory community
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills
  • Skills applicable to clinical discipline
Salary

$37 to $45 an hour
