About the Role:

As a Hazardous Substances Officer at Velocity Innovations, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with national and European regulations on hazardous substances. Your expertise will be essential in identifying and labeling hazardous substances, managing hazardous substance registers and safety data sheets, and providing consultation and support to employees and management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance with national and European regulations on hazardous substances
  • Identification and labeling of hazardous substances
  • Management of hazardous substance registers and safety data sheets
  • Consultation and support for employees and management
  • Contact person and advisor for internal and external interfaces
  • Planning and conducting training and instruction sessions
  • Establishment of measures for handling hazardous substances and ensuring the internal transport of hazardous substances according to specifications
  • Guidelines for the storage of hazardous substances, taking into account storage suitability, fire protection, prohibitions on storage together, and any environmental requirements
  • Participation in projects related to hazardous substances
  • Close cooperation with the occupational safety specialist
  • Technical support and responsibility for the material control area

Your Profile:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in hazardous substance management. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Completed training as a state-certified technician or technical master and ideally a qualification as a hazardous substance officer
  • Several years of professional experience in hazardous substance management
  • Extensive experience in dealing with and applying legal requirements
  • Quick comprehension and analytical thinking beyond the scope
  • Acting as a competent contact person
  • Willingness to undergo intensive training and further education in legal basics and new software programs
  • Good MS Office skills
  • Independent and self-reliant way of working
  • High level of initiative and teamwork
  • Strong communication skills, assertiveness, and persuasiveness
  • Organizational skills and reliability
