Job Summary
The Registered Nurse plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality patient care through evidence-based practices and compassionate communication. The RN is responsible for leading initiatives that foster a safe and supportive environment for patients, ensuring a seamless transition across various healthcare settings.
This 14-bed medical intensive/coronary care unit specializes in treating a diverse range of critically ill patients, including those with complex cardiac, respiratory, and renal conditions. The unit is equipped with advanced technology, including an innovative EICU system that allows for continuous monitoring of patients from a centralized command center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Utilize clinical judgment to implement and evaluate nursing interventions.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain compliance with established protocols and standards of care.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program with a current Illinois RN license.
- BSN preferred; ADN acceptable with a commitment to complete a BSN program within four years.
- Minimum of one year of critical care nursing experience required.
- Current AHA CPR and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to lift patients and assist in emergency evacuations when necessary.
