Responsibilities:


The Radiologic Technologist II, under the guidance of the Medical Imaging Supervisor and in collaboration with the Radiology Manager, ensures timely, efficient, and respectful service to patients while capturing high-quality radiographic images.

This role requires a professional who can exhibit the necessary knowledge and skills to cater to the diverse age groups of patients.

Additionally, the technologist must be capable of evaluating data reflective of the patient's condition and interpreting the relevant information needed to meet each patient's needs effectively.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering high-quality imaging results promptly and accurately.
  • Maintaining an exceptional standard of radiographic images with a repeat rate of less than 5%, as monitored by leadership.
  • Assisting Radiologists during fluoroscopic procedures, including setting up sterile trays and preparing necessary chemical mixtures.
  • Administering medications as prescribed by licensed practitioners when applicable.
  • Conducting radiographic examinations per established protocols, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Transporting patients as needed, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Fostering a positive working relationship with Radiology students completing their clinical rotations.
  • Providing a safe environment for all patients.
  • Thoroughly explaining procedures to patients and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
  • Offering coverage for the OR, ER, and portable imaging, in addition to fluoroscopy procedures.
  • Maintaining adequate inventory levels in all diagnostic Radiology rooms.
  • Restocking supplies and ensuring cleanliness and organization of x-ray rooms post-use.
  • Completing daily checklists to ensure safe patient care and regulatory compliance.
  • Engaging in professional development through educational programs and workshops.
  • Maintaining licensure through ongoing education and attending departmental meetings regularly.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:
Completion of an accredited radiology technology training program is required.

Experience:
New graduates are welcome to apply; prior experience as a Radiologic Technologist is preferred.

Licensure/Certifications:
ARRT registration as a Radiologic Technologist is required.
NYS registration as a Radiologic Technologist is required.
BLS certification is required.

Physical Requirements:
This position involves heavy work, requiring the ability to exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
It also includes occasional balancing, climbing, crouching, kneeling, and stooping, with frequent lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, and walking.

Hazards:
Exposure to bodily fluids, bloodborne pathogens, and radiation is frequent.

Working Conditions:
Occasional exposure to noise.

Travel:
Occasional travel may be required, but not on a regular basis.

USD $47.06/Hr.
