Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Operating Room Assistant to join our team at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH). As an Operating Room Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms, providing exceptional patient care, and supporting our perioperative nursing team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport patients safely and efficiently to and from operating rooms
  • Clean and maintain operating rooms, including equipment and supplies
  • Assist with patient transfers, using proper body mechanics and safety protocols
  • Deliver specimens to laboratories and retrieve them from refrigerators
  • Restock supplies and maintain a clean and organized environment
  • Collaborate with the perioperative nursing team to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Able to read, understand, and write English
  • Successful completion of Hospital Orientation and Departmental Orientation and Training
  • Ability to lift 40lbs independently and push a stretcher with a patient weighing up to 250lbs
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a sterile and substerile environment, wearing surgical scrub attire, and maintaining a high level of attention to detail and organization.
