Meat Cutter Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Meat Cutter to join our team at Strack and Van Til. As a Meat Cutter, you will be responsible for assisting customers and other staff, processing bulk meat for sale, and maintaining a clean and organized meat department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Meat Cutting and Processing:
  • Inspect meat products for freshness and quality
  • Facing merchandise in the department to ensure visibility and appeal
  • Operating meat slicers, grinders, saws, sausage stuffers, and tenderizers
  • Using a variety of knives to prepare and portion meat products
• Customer Service and Support:
  • Assisting customers with meat purchases and answering questions
  • Providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience
• Department Maintenance:
  • Climbing ladders or using a stair tower to reach stock and maintain inventory
  • Preparing items for wrapping and presentation
  • Stacking off pallets and receiving shipments
  • Stocking and rotating product to ensure freshness and availability

Requirements:

Work Environment:

Our meat department operates in a normal temperature range, with occasional exposure to cooler and freezer temperatures. We maintain a clean and safe working environment, and our associates are expected to adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
