Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Microbiology Lab Technician to join our team at Actalent. This is a long-term career opportunity for someone who wants to grow in the field of microbiology.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining safe work practices and ensuring product quality in a brand new state-of-the-art facility. Key responsibilities include adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), maintaining sanitary conditions, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct periodic quality checks, including physical and chemical lab tests, coding, weight, packaging integrity, labeling, and temperature checks.
  • Inspect and sample incoming ingredients for internal lab testing as required.
  • Serve as a liaison between Production, Distribution, Sanitation, Maintenance, and the Quality Department.
  • Participate in food safety/quality inspections, mock recalls, and HACCP audits.
  • Verify proper setup of production lines and review the sanitary condition of production lines before startup.
  • Communicate quality issues and assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Perform environmental swabbing of critical production areas as needed.
  • Ensure lab equipment is properly maintained and calibrated, and maintain micro sample and shelf-life study programs.
