ROLE OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a skilled software engineer who is enthusiastic about enhancing the performance of critical applications and benchmarks.
As a vital member of a core team of highly talented industry experts, you will engage with cutting-edge hardware and software technologies.
Your mission will involve identifying opportunities within HIP, OpenMP, and OpenCL applications and benchmarks, collaborating with backend engineers in the compiler to implement enhancements.
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for software engineering and demonstrate leadership capabilities to navigate complex issues effectively.
You should possess excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams across AMD.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with AMD's architecture specialists to enhance future product offerings.
- Utilize a data-driven approach to focus optimization efforts.
- Stay updated on software and hardware trends, particularly regarding algorithms and architecture.
- Design and develop groundbreaking technologies for AMD.
- Participate in new ASIC and hardware launches.
- Debug and resolve existing issues while exploring alternative, more efficient methods to achieve objectives.
- Establish technical relationships with peers and partners.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with GPU performance profiling tools to identify optimization opportunities.
- Familiarity with LLVM.
- Strong background in object-oriented programming, preferably in C/C++.
- Ability to produce high-quality code with meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience with modern concurrent programming and threading APIs.
- Knowledge of Windows, Linux, and/or Android operating system development.
- Familiarity with software development processes and tools such as debuggers, source control systems (GitHub), and profilers is advantageous.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Motivating leader with excellent interpersonal abilities.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required.
