Key Responsibilities
  • Offer specialized knowledge to INSCOM and the Intelligence Community at global sites regarding the electrical engineering components involved in the installation, modification, operation, and upkeep of facilities, mission systems, and support systems, including power generation, distribution, and grounding systems.
  • Exhibit advanced technical skills and creativity in both 2D and 3D electrical computer-aided design and modeling.
  • Create intricate plans informed by client input and personal expertise, adhering to government standards.
  • Design facilities that encompass building power systems, lighting layouts, and load calculations to satisfy essential electrical demands.
  • Generate construction drawings, specifications, and cost assessments.
  • Lead and mentor fellow engineering team members.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in electrical facility design, construction, maintenance, and operations.
  • Conduct assessments of building and facility conditions related to electrical systems.
  • Perform electrical engineering calculations for power systems, including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and coordination studies.
  • Serve as a technical authority on electromagnetic interference mitigation.
  • Review facility and equipment design packages to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Guarantee the proper installation and functioning of complex UPS and generator systems that provide reliable and redundant power to critical equipment.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on electrical construction to ensure workmanship quality and adherence to standards.
  • Provide SME contributions to the development of technical publications, including INSCOM regulations and pamphlets.
  • Be prepared for immediate deployment to global locations in potentially hazardous environments to deliver technical support to U.S. forces.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution, with 8-10 years of diverse engineering experience in medium or low voltage power electrical equipment, integration, and maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Experience in the installation and maintenance of low voltage power systems, preferably with an architecture or engineering consulting firm.
  • Application engineering experience in the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of power generation, distribution, and grounding systems.
  • Familiarity with uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and knowledge of power and grounding principles and techniques.
  • Proficiency in English, including the ability to read, write, and understand technical documentation, schematics, and diagrams. Professional registration is preferred but not required.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required. Must possess a Final Top-Secret Clearance based on a TIER 5 Background Investigation, with a favorable eligibility determination for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) in accordance with ICD 704. Some roles may necessitate a Counterintelligence (CI) Scope Polygraph, particularly those requiring access to TDN2.
