Company Overview

The City of Durango is seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team. As a part-time custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of assigned buildings.

Job Summary

This role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent cleaning skills and the ability to work independently. You will be responsible for sweeping, mopping, and waxing floors; dusting furniture; polishing glassware and windows; and performing routine inspections on lights and electrical outlets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain assigned buildings, including floors, surfaces, and equipment
  • Dust furniture, polish glassware and windows, and perform routine inspections
  • Operate custodial equipment, including buffers, vacuum cleaners, and electric tools
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance duties as needed
  • Work independently in the absence of supervision

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive hourly wage of $19.70 and a range of benefits, including sick leave, free transit passes, and access to the Durango Community Recreation Center and Chapman Hill Ice Rink and Ski Area.
