Role Summary

The position of Facility Maintenance Associate is essential to the overall success of Sloomoo Institute. Reporting to the Facilities Supervisor, this role collaborates with the management team to ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of our facility. The ideal candidate will be a reliable and proactive team player, capable of performing essential maintenance tasks while upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain windows and mirrors.
  • Manage waste disposal and recycling efforts.
  • Sanitize and wipe down surfaces regularly.
  • Ensure restrooms are clean, stocked, and sanitized.
  • Assist with snow and leaf removal as required.
  • Follow directives from the Facilities Supervisor.
  • Maintain floors through sweeping, mopping, polishing, and vacuuming.
  • Care for outdoor spaces, including lawn mowing and plant watering.
  • Utilize standard cleaning tools and outdoor equipment effectively.
  • Organize cleaning supplies and equipment in designated storage areas.
  • Perform minor repairs, such as changing light bulbs and unclogging drains.
  • Report major repair needs to the Facilities Supervisor.
  • Complete checklists at the end of each shift.
  • Secure the facility at the end of night shifts.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and company policies.
  • Maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
  • Receive positive feedback regarding facility upkeep.
  • Anticipate supply needs for the team.
  • Demonstrate strong time management and independent work skills.
  • Collaborate with fellow maintenance staff as necessary.
  • Handle the physical demands of the role, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a maintenance or cleaning role within hospitality or a related field.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
