Key Responsibilities:

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Strong programming capabilities on the iSeries platform – Develop and analyze new applications utilizing RPG, RPG ILE, SQLRPGLE, and Control Language (CLP/CLLE).
  • Solid understanding of SQL principles – Modify and analyze intricate SQL queries, embedded SQL in SQLRPGLE, and cursor programming.
  • Database Knowledge – Create and assess Physical files, Logical Files, SQL tables, Indexes, Views, and Stored procedures.
  • Proficient in screen programming – Display Files, Subfiles, and Printer files.
  • Effectively document business rules and create data mapping documents after evaluating program and data flows.
  • ILE Programming Skills – Develop and analyze program modules, binding directories, and service programs.
  • Familiarity with Message Queue (MQ), MQ Trigger, and embedding XML tags in RPG applications.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential, as the role involves complete ownership of project tasks based on interactions with client-side analysts.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with Turnover – the code configuration management tool.
  • Experience with X-Analysis – a cross-reference tool for iSeries.
  • Understanding of Triggers and Message Queuing for inter-program and inter-system communication.
  • Knowledge of ROBOT job scheduler – experience in creating and managing scheduled jobs in the iSeries environment.
  • Understanding of normalized and denormalized tables, as well as Star Schema databases.
  • Experience with iSeries Navigator – for executing queries and analyzing SQL query performance.
  • Knowledge in the Retail Domain, particularly in areas such as Merchandising, Warehouse Management, and Distribution.
