About the Role
SWM International is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at our Minneapolis, MN union plant location. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our industrial equipment and machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all company-established methods, policies, rules, practices, and procedures to ensure employee safety, product quality, and efficient operations.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures and downtime.
- Perform repairs and replacements of defective parts, and lubricate and clean equipment as needed.
- Set up and operate various metalworking tools, such as lathes, drill presses, and grinders, to make and repair parts.
- Initiate purchase orders for parts and machines, and repair electrical equipment as required.
Requirements
- Associates Degree from a college, university, or technical school; 3+ years related experience and/or training; recent technical school graduates with required certifications are encouraged to apply.
- Certifications Preferred: Sheet Metal/Fabrication, Machining, Welding, Blue Print Reading, Rigging Procedures, Vacuum Systems, Hydraulics, Pneumatic Components, Machining (Plasma CNC, Milling, Lathing), Servo Repair.
- Required Skills: 3+ years industrial maintenance experience, outstanding attention to detail and problem-solving skills, computer and math skills, ability to interpret technical instructions, ability to work independently and manage workload, strong communication skills, consistent and reliable attendance.
