Position Overview
This role involves leading diverse project teams within the Manufacturing Engineering division. The primary responsibility is to guarantee that assigned projects are completed within established timelines and adhere to quality standards. The individual will formulate project plans, establish schedules, secure necessary resources, make essential technical decisions, provide status updates, and ensure that all project documentation aligns with bioMerieux's Quality System.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct all activities in accordance with company policies and the bioMerieux Quality System.
- Create and maintain project plans, including timelines and milestones, updating them as needed.
- Collaborate with fellow Engineering Project Managers and Engineering Management to allocate resources effectively.
- Deliver regular project updates to Management and other departments.
- Oversee and mentor multi-disciplinary engineering project teams:
- Facilitate communication among team members and disseminate project information.
- Define roles and responsibilities, ensuring all engineers comprehend their tasks and interdependencies.
- Inspire team members and provide necessary motivation and support.
- Ensure projects comply with design control processes.
- Maintain the project Design History File, ensuring all documentation meets project and team requirements and adheres to the Quality System.
- Provide technical guidance for projects and make critical technical decisions to keep projects on track.
- Receive guidance from an Engineering Project Manager III or higher and mentor junior engineers.
- Manage project scope, design history, task assignments, and technical decisions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Additional Information
- This position does not have direct reports but requires supervision of team members to ensure timely and quality project completion.
- Involves managing projects of moderate scope and complexity.
- Minimal travel may be necessary.
Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering or Management is required. Project Management certification is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 6 years in engineering, with at least 4 years in project management-related roles, is required. Experience in a highly regulated industry is preferred.
