At Catholic Charities Family Community Services, we are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team.
We provide support and instruction in activities necessary to promote and maintain independence and self-determination for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities living in residential settings.
Job Description:- Provide person-centered support to individuals served, recognizing their unique needs and preferred learning styles.
- Assist individuals with daily tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Schedule and accompany individuals to medical appointments, documenting all pertinent information.
- Engage in effective communication with individuals, promoting their emotional, physical, and personal well-being.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly home environment, following safety and infection control procedures.
- Provide immediate response to incidents, first aid treatments, medical emergencies, or other crises according to policy and procedures.
- Assist individuals with fiscal management, safeguarding their funds and supporting their spending choices.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, sharing pertinent information during work shifts and from shift to shift.
- Promote the rights and dignity of individuals served, ensuring they are treated with respect.
- Transport individuals and perform business-related travel, following safety procedures.
- High School Diploma required; 1 year of care experience preferred.
- Demonstrate flexibility in work schedule, working overtime and covering additional shifts as needed.
