Traffic Control Specialist

Job Summary

The Traffic Control Laborer will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicular traffic through construction projects under the supervision of the Project Superintendent.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform traffic control and flagging activities as needed to maintain a safe working environment.
• Follow established safety protocols and regulations on all work zones and flagging sites, including the placement of signs, barricades, traffic cones, and other warning devices.
• Communicate effectively with motorists and co-workers using signs, hand signals, and other mechanisms to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Inform drivers of detour routes through construction sites to minimize disruptions.
• Warn construction and paving workers when approaching vehicles fail to heed signals to prevent accidents and injuries.

Requirements

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures.
• Willingness to travel and work away from home when required.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and overtime when necessary.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent education.
• Five years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
