Job Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care to a specific patient population. Working under the guidance and direction of licensed nurses, this role involves assisting physicians and nursing personnel in delivering exceptional patient care. Key responsibilities include collecting specimens, running lab tests, performing EKGs, drug screen collections, and breath alcohol tests. Additionally, the Certified Nursing Assistant performs clerical duties as assigned and participates in unit activities that promote quality patient care outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians and nursing personnel in providing patient care to a specific patient population
  • Collect specimens, run lab tests, perform EKGs, drug screen collections, and breath alcohol tests
  • Perform clerical duties as assigned
  • Participate in unit activities that promote quality patient care outcomes
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • Vocational / Technical Degree in Medical Field (Preferred)
  • 1+ year Patient Care Experience in a healthcare setting (Preferred)
Certifications and Licenses
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Physical Requirements
  • Have near normal vision - Clarity of vision (both near and far), ability to distinguish colors
  • Have good manual dexterity
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks/motion
Physical Demands
  • Standing - Continuously within shift (67-100%)
  • Walking - Frequently within shift (34-66%)
  • Sitting - Occasionally within shift (1-33%)
  • Climbing - Occasionally within shift (1-33%)
  • Bending/Stooping - Frequently within shift (34-66%)
