About the RoleThe Clinical Practice Specialist is a key member of our team, responsible for ensuring quality clinical practice and professional development at the front-line. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to facilitate inter-professional teams for unit/division-based and house-wide clinical process improvement.
- This position will lead efforts to develop and implement education opportunities for staff, monitor progress towards specialty certification, and participate in review of unit/division dashboards to identify areas for quality improvement.
- You will also plan, implement, evaluate division-specific learning activities to improve safety, update unit-based clinical policies and procedures, and provide input into staff evaluations related to clinical competence.
- As a Clinical Practice Specialist, you will serve as a patient advocate, model clinical practice that reflects our 'Patients First' philosophy, and consult with nursing and hospital leadership on clinical system and process issues.
- Develops and implements education opportunities for staff based on identified needs assessments, departmental goals, and new/expanded clinical programs.
- Monitors and trends quality report data with operational manager to identify areas for improvement and develops associated action plans.
- Leads/facilitates inter-professional teams for unit/division-based and house-wide clinical process improvement initiatives.
- Participates in review of unit/division dashboards to assess opportunities for quality improvement and develops corresponding action plans with key stakeholders.
- Plans, implements, evaluates division-specific learning activities to improve safety, including simulations and unit-based clinical policy and procedure reviews.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent required; Master's in Science in Nursing or obtain within 4 years of assuming role.
- Registered Nursing license issued by the State of Illinois required; Certified in related clinical area or obtain when eligible.
- 3-5 years' experience in specific clinical area preferred.
- BLS through American Heart Association certification required.
Northwestern Medicine offers a highly competitive salary range for this role: $ $104,432 - $143,761 per year. Additionally, you will receive comprehensive benefits, including tuition reimbursement, loan forgiveness, 401(k) matching, and more.
