Television Studies Professorship

We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor in Television Studies to join our faculty at Marist College. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in television studies, developing curriculum, and contributing to the growth and success of our students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach television studies courses at the introductory and upper-level, including Introduction to Media Studies, Television Theory and Criticism, and Current Issues in Television.
  • Develop and teach first-year seminars and honors program courses.
  • Conduct research and/or creative work in the area of television studies.
  • Engage in academic advising, assessment, and service to the institution and the academic discipline.
  • Participate in curricular development and planning.
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. or other terminal degree in television studies or a related field.
  • Two years of teaching experience at the collegiate level.
  • Evidence of diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Three or more years of teaching experience at the collegiate level.
  • An emerging scholarly trajectory.
