The University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist I to join their team.
Key Responsibilities- Perform various laboratory tests using manual and automated processes, adhering to regulatory agency guidelines and addressing concerns as needed.
- Identify and resolve analytical problems, troubleshoot equipment issues, and take corrective action in evaluating testing procedures, patient results, and specimen integrity.
- Review and record quality control, determining the acceptability of testing, patient results, and instrument function by applying principles of QA/QC daily.
- Respond to clinical and customer concerns, resolving issues in a confidential manner while employing integrity and discretion.
- Attend mandatory education, training, and in-service meetings specific to the department.
- An Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field, or completion of a Military Laboratory Technician program.
- No prior experience required; one year of clinical laboratory experience is preferred.
- ASCP certification or equivalent is preferred.
