We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at McLeod Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support our physicians in delivering exceptional medical services.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with our physicians.
- Provide direct patient care, including triage, assessment, procedures, treatments, patient education, and discharge instructions.
- Formulate and document patient databases, including vital signs, history, and chief complaint.
- Perform specialized tests and procedures as needed, such as audiometry, electrocardiography, and selected laboratory procedures.
- Prepare medications and administer injections as ordered by our physicians.
- Apply splints and assist with treatments and procedures as needed.
- Provide patient education and schedule testing and referral appointments as instructed by our physicians.
- Consult with patients on telephone calls and perform follow-up calls as necessary.
- Clean and straighten examination rooms between patients, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Keep all necessary instruments clean and in examination rooms.
- Set up and maintain equipment, notifying our office manager or appropriate personnel of any malfunctions.
- Maintain medical supply inventory, checking expiration dates on drugs and vaccines, and disposing of outdated medications.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of all equipment needed to perform duties.
- At least one year of experience in a clinical setting.
- Valid SC RN license and BLS certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
