Sutter Health is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for delivering accurate results in a timely manner, maintaining competence in pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic procedures, and adhering to all local, state, and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Execute procedures in assigned areas of the laboratory to deliver accurate results in a timely manner.
- Maintain competence to perform pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic procedures on biological specimens to aid healthcare providers in the diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and prevention of disease.
- Perform a variety of basic and complex laboratory procedures, including phlebotomy, specimen processing, quality control, quality assurance, and waived, moderate, or high-complexity testing.
- Manage blood inventory, prepare blood products, and issue blood products for transfusion (if assigned to the Transfusion Service).
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure patient privacy and maintain the highest level of safety and reliability in testing.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- CA Licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) certification.
- 2 years of recent relevant experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge and technical competence in routine specimen collection, preparation, testing applications, laboratory operations, and quality assurance in one or more assigned clinical specialty areas.
- Ability to accurately, precisely, and reliably perform job duties and assigned tasks.
- Ability to compassionately and effectively interact with patients of diverse ages, backgrounds, values, beliefs, and behaviors.
- Ability to follow standard practices, processes, and procedures in sequence.
- Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures aimed at ensuring the privacy and safety of patients.
- Varied schedule, including rotating weekends.
- Full-time position with 40 hours per week.
- Non-exempt status.
