As a Pharmacy Technician specializing in Oncology at our Independence Family Health Center, your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and refill automated dispensing systems.
Prepare medication carts daily.
Manage orders and inventory for the pharmacy department.
Repackage bulk medications.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements:
A high school diploma or GED is required. Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program is preferred.

Certifications:

Upon hire, registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacy Technician Trainee with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy is mandatory. Candidates must be eligible for registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy, with certification required within six months.
Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is preferred at the time of hire.

CPhT certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is required within 18 months.


Work Complexity:
This role requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently. The candidate must be capable of functioning in a high-pressure environment and responding appropriately.

Experience Requirements:
Six months of experience in a hospital setting is preferred.

Physical Demands:
Typical physical requirements include the ability to perform job functions while reaching, stretching, and possessing manual dexterity sufficient for computer tasks.

Personal Protective Equipment:
Adhere to standard precautions and utilize personal protective equipment as necessary.
