Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Catering Attendant to join our team at St. Luke's Hospital. As a key member of our food service department, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of duties, including basic food preparation, delivering and setting up catering services, and ensuring that all supplies are on hand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook food items, including fruits, vegetables, meats, and sauces
  • Deliver and set up catering services to various locations within the hospital
  • Ensure that all supplies are on hand and that all side tasks are completed
  • Perform basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and cutting fruit and vegetables, seasoning and slicing meats, and preparing sauces and salads
  • Set up dining and buffet areas as per the catering manager's instructions
  • Ensure all tableware and chafing dishes are properly cleaned and sanitized before each catering event
  • Take inventory of ingredients and catering supplies and order new stock as required
  • Appropriately store clean chafing dishes, tableware, platters, and equipment after each catering event
  • Answer guests' catering-related questions during events and address all complaints
Requirements
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency preferred
  • Customer service and/or food service experience preferred, but not necessary
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to multitask. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time. The employee must also be able to hear normal conversation and have general vision, far vision, and peripheral vision.
