Job Summary

Dayton Freight Lines is seeking a skilled Forklift Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of our forklift fleet.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance inspections and services on forklifts to prevent breakdowns and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Support the tire maintenance program, including inspections, replacements, and rotations.
  • Respond to service calls and perform repairs on forklifts in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Wash and fuel equipment, and perform other maintenance duties as assigned.
  • Provide assistance to senior technicians and lead the care and upkeep of the Maintenance Shop, grounds, and all equipment and tools.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment that complies with DOT, EPA, OSHA, and Company standards.
  • Be proficient in paperwork and record keeping, and ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities.
  • In conjunction with the Parts Department, ensure that all necessary materials, parts, service/shop supplies are maintained at proper quantity levels.
  • Effectively handle special assignments as directed, and maintain a quality hand tool inventory.
  • Communicate professionally with operations and/or operators, and participate at a high level of teamwork.

Requirements

  • Basic math skills and ability to read and understand technical manuals.
  • Fluent in English and able to communicate effectively with team members and management.
  • Able to pass a drug screen and meet all Company requirements for employment.
