Soliant Education is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Professional, you will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement IEPs: Create and modify student-specific lesson plans tailored to meet competency-based high school credit requirements.
- Collaborate with Content Area Teachers: Work with highly qualified content area teachers to ensure alignment and integration of instructional strategies.
- Manage Student Case Loads: Develop and write Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and associated documentation for students with special needs.
- Oversee Special Education Programs: Ensure compliance with legal and educational standards, and oversee the implementation of special education programs and services.
- Monitor and Assess Student Progress: Adjust instructional methods and IEPs as needed to support student success.
- Communicate Effectively: Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding student needs, progress, and concerns.
- Participate in Multidisciplinary Team Meetings: Contribute to the development of educational strategies and interventions.
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certification: Possess a valid New Hampshire Special Education Teaching Certification.
- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education: Hold a Bachelor's degree in Special Education.
- Previous Experience: Previous experience working as a Special Education Teacher, particularly in a high school setting, is highly desirable.
- Strong Knowledge of Special Education Laws: Possess strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and best practices for teaching students with diverse learning needs.
- Excellent Communication and Organizational Skills: Demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to Work Collaboratively: Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and support staff.
- Proficiency in Educational Technology: Proficiency in using educational technology and software for record-keeping and instructional purposes.
