POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the guidance of the Senior Vice President of Development and Marketing, the Chief of Individual and Corporate Philanthropy is responsible for the design and implementation of cultivation and stewardship strategies that bolster fundraising initiatives, gift planning, major gift acquisition, donor engagement, and annual contributions. With a focus on securing donations of $10,000 and above, this role requires a seasoned, innovative, and strategic fundraising expert who consistently meets and surpasses ambitious fundraising objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Develops and executes comprehensive engagement strategies for individual and corporate donors to secure contributions and achieve fundraising goals. Actively cultivates, solicits, and nurtures relationships with individual and corporate partners;
- Manages a portfolio of 125 individual and corporate prospects, serving as the primary relationship manager. Aims to expand SERV's donor base throughout New Jersey;
- Conducts 12-15 personal visits monthly and maintains accurate records of all interactions in the CRM;
- Collaborates with the SVP to establish challenging annual and monthly revenue targets; provides performance reports on the individual and corporate giving program to the SVP;
- Secures corporate sponsorships for SERV's events. Participates in and supports both external and internal SERV events as needed;
- Works with the SVP and Communications team to craft and disseminate targeted donor solicitation materials;
- Advises and supports the CEO, SVP, and Board of Directors in their fundraising efforts;
- Undertakes additional fundraising tasks and responsibilities as required to further departmental or organizational objectives.
- Thorough understanding of best practices in fundraising.
- Strategic, innovative, mature, diplomatic, and possessing strong interpersonal skills.
- Professional demeanor, comfortable engaging with the public.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation abilities.
- Outgoing personality with a proactive approach.
- Experience in making cold calls and pitches to potential donors.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and donor management software (Bloomerang).
- Strong organizational capabilities, with the ability to adapt to frequent changes in task focus, competing priorities, and multiple deadlines.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Reliable transportation and the capacity to travel frequently for events and meetings.
- Bachelor's degree.
- A minimum of five years of successful direct fundraising experience.
- Demonstrated success in developing individual and corporate giving programs, including experience in annual giving, crowdfunding, peer-to-peer fundraising, sponsorships, capital campaigns, and major gifts, with a proven ability to secure donations of $10,000 and above.
- Valid driver's license in the state of residence.
