About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Patient Care Specialist to join our team at Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center. The estimated salary for this role is $38,000 - $58,000 per year.
Job Description:
The Patient Care Specialist will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, collecting blood specimens, and performing administrative tasks. This includes accurately identifying patients, preparing specimens for transport, and executing receptionist/clerk functions.
Responsibilities:
- Collect blood specimens from patients in a safe and efficient manner.
- Prepare specimens for transport to reference labs and execute pre-analytic specimen handling tasks.
- Enter patient information into the laboratory computer system and transmit reports via fax modem.
Requirements:
- One year of experience in phlebotomy or a related field is preferred.
- Completion of a Certified Phlebotomist program is desirable.
- BLS certification is required.
