Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Travel Respiratory Therapist to join our team at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital. As a critical care specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our intensive care unit.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide respiratory care to critically ill patients, including ventilator management and oxygen therapy
  • Assess and manage patients with respiratory distress syndrome, pneumonia, and other respiratory conditions
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Conduct chest physiotherapy and draw arterial blood gases as needed
  • Participate in code blue situations and provide emergency care as required

Requirements:

  • RRT certification and BLS, ACLS certifications
  • 2 years of experience in critical care, with a minimum of 1 prior travel assignment
  • Community hospital experience required, teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Rotating weekends and holidays, with a minimum of 2 years of experience

Preferred Skills:

  • CPAP/Nasal CPAP/BIPAP experience
  • Respiratory distress syndrome management
  • Cerner experience

Additional Information:

This facility requires that all employees have the Flu vaccine. Aya employees must complete compliance documents specific to the facility.
